About
The Oak Ridge Community Band stands as a proud non-profit organization committed to sharing the transformative power of music with our community. Through our free band concerts and engaging musical events, we strive to create unforgettable experiences that resonate with everyone. This is our opportunity to tell the story of our band, celebrate the talented individuals who make it thrive, and illustrate the profound impact our musical services have on our community. We are dedicated to distinguishing ourselves by actively enriching lives through the joy of music.

Our History
Since 1944, the Oak Ridge Community Band has played a vital role in enhancing our community’s cultural landscape. Founded during a time of secrecy due to the Manhattan Project and the development of nuclear weapons in World War II, the band has evolved into a treasured institution. In the summer of 1944, a passionate group of residents, united by their love for concert band instruments, came together to commemorate Independence Day with a spirited performance outside the Grove Center Movie Theater, now celebrated as the Historic Grove Theater. Their unwavering dedication and exceptional talent laid the groundwork for a musical legacy that continues to inspire joy and connection within our community today. Join us as we carry on this rich tradition and invite you to experience the magic of music with us.
We believe in the transformative power of music. Every individual can embrace the joy it brings, define their own rhythm, and harmonize with others to create a beautiful melody that resonates within our community and beyond.
Our Mission
At Oak Ridge Community Band, our mission is to provide accessible musical experiences that uplift, inspire, and unite our diverse community. We strive to cultivate a love for music and create opportunities for musicians of all ages and backgrounds.

Our Vision
Our vision is to foster a vibrant cultural environment where music flourishes as a unifying force. We envision a community where every individual cherishes the gift of music, and where the Oak Ridge Community Band serves as a catalyst for artistic expression and collective harmony.
