The Oak Ridge Community Band (ORCB) was founded in 1944 to give amateur musicians the opportunity to play their instruments and to provide quality band music for the Oak Ridge community. The band currently presents four free summer concerts in Alvin K. Bissell Park and six indoor concerts which beginning for the 2019-2020 series will be also be free admission. In lieu of admission, the band will request donations to help defray band expenses. The winter series concerts will be presented in three venues including the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center, the First Baptist Church, and new for the 2019-2020 series a new venue – the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart located in Knoxville.
The Community Band is a tax exempt, non-profit organization registered in the State of Tennessee and is a member of the Arts Council of Oak Ridge. Rehearsals are held every Thursday evening 7:30 - 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. Interested area musicians are welcome to join, and no auditions are required.

The Community Band goes indoors beginning in October and ending in April to present a more formal series of concerts under a general theme for the season. There will be an important change for the 2019-2020 season in that no admission fee will be charged for the indoor concerts. Instead, donations will be requested to help defray band expenses. Donation categories are Special Benefactor:$500+, Benefactor: $300 to $499, Patron: $200 to $299, Sponsor: $100 to $199, Friend : $1 to $99. Donations should be sent to ORCB, P.O. Oak Ridge Community Band 2019-2020 Concert Series Schedule
The concerts for the 2019-2020 year will be performed at three different venues including the Oak Ridge High School Performing Art at 1450 Oak Ridge Turnpike, the First Baptist Church at 1101 Oak Ridge Turnpike, and new for the 2019-2020 season in Knoxville at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart at 711 S. Oak Ridge Community Band Summer Concerts
The 2020 summer series of outdoor concerts will begin the Oak Ridge Community Band's 76th season. All the band's summer concerts – Memorial Day, July 4, the 1st Sunday in August, and Labor Day - are held at A.K. Bissell Park, 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike, at the Performing Arts Pavilion. No admission fee is charged but donations are gratefully accepted. Bring chairs or blankets for outdoor seating, and there is a paved area for wheelchairs.
